Theme
The poem has an essence of gratitude and pride for the nation. The soldiers are the heroes that keep the country safe and give the citizens a life of peace and security. The poem is beautiful and inspiring.
Stanza I
Oh! Defenders of borders Yet are great sons of my land When we are all asleep You still hold on to your deed. Windy season or snowy days Or scorching sun's sweltering rays You are there guarding all the time awake Treading the lonely expanses as Yogis.
The soldiers are the defenders of the borders. They play an extremely crucial role in national security. The poet calls them the great sons of India. When the entire country is asleep, these brave men sacrifice their sleep to guard the borders making sure everyone else has sweet dreams. Whether its storming or scorching, the adverse conditions do not hold them back from fulfilling their duty to the nation. They are always on guard and alert. The poet compares them to Yogis.
Stanza II
Climbing the heights or striding the valleys Defending the desert guarding the marshes Surveillance in seas and by securing the air Prime of your youth given to the nation!! Wind chimes of my land vibrate your feat We pray for you brave men!! May the Lord bless you all!!
They are neither fazed by heights nor depths. They have eyes everywhere, on land, air as well as sea. They boldly defend their country from everywhere. These soldiers are young men, they have devoted their youth for such a noble duty. Knowing they are constantly in the face of danger they still devoted their prime age to the nation. The wind chimes are said to be vibrating their feat, in essence it is as if the chimes are applauding the men for their courage. The poet on behalf on the entire nation blesses the soldiers and prays for them.
