Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you that I will not be able to attend the PTM scheduled for tomorrow due to a family tragedy. My [parent/guardian] has passed away and I will be unable to attend the PTM as I will be busy making arrangements for the funeral.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. I am really looking forward to attending the PTM and discussing my child’s progress with the teachers. However, I am unable to attend the meeting due to recent events.

I would request you to kindly convey my apologies to the teachers and inform them of my situation. I will be happy to reschedule the meeting at a later date, once I am able to attend.
