A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of moral values.
Before looking at what is moral, allow me to elaborate on what ‘values’ are. Google defines values to be “principles or standards of behaviour; one’s judgement of what is important in life.” From this, it can be understood that values are unmistakably crucial in one’s life.
How does morals or morality fit in here? Google defines the term ‘moral’ to be “concerned with the principles of right and wrong behaviour.”
Hence, moral values are important decisions in life that pertain to what is considered right or acceptable in a particular society. It also deals with, as Google articulately puts it, “examining the nature of ethics and the foundations of good and bad character and conduct.”
Moral values are crucial in one’s life. Good moral values such as honesty, courage, hard work, compassion, gratitude, and respect help build one’s character positively.
