A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a small speech on the topic of the importance of moral education.
Education through morals, especially for children at a young age, is very important. They need to be taught what is right and what is wrong from childhood so that they can grow up into responsible adults who are aware of morality and ethics.
Aside from right and wrong, moral education also allows children to learn other important values in life such as respect, honesty, compassion, hard work, kindness, gratitude, sharing, cooperation, generosity, and responsibility. These are core moral values that are integral to shaping an individual’s life.
Moral education, apart from being taught in schools, can also be inculcated in homes. Various graphic books, comics, and other moral stories (with morals at the end of the stories) are now available for children to learn about morals. Some examples are Panchtantra Tales, Jataka Tales, and Tinke Comics.
