A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a small speech on the topic of the importance of mother.
Google defines a mother to be “a woman in relation to her child or children.” But, is this impersonal sentence all that is attributed to whom a mother is?
Maya Angelou, the revolutionary African-American poet has said, “To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” Indeed, a mother is very important in everyone’s life, even more so for a child.
From nurturing them, showering them with affection, and guiding them each and every step of their life, a mother’s role is irreplaceable in one’s life. In fact, it has been proven scientifically that the absence of a mother in one’s life affects one psychologically.
To commemorate their importance, “Mother’s Day” is universally celebrated all over the world on the 14th of May every year.
