Dear Sneha,
I hope you and your loved ones are happy and doing well. How is the weather in Delhi? I hope to meet you by the end of next month. Here in Tamil Nadu, the climate has been very harsh in the past week. A cyclone named Gaja has hit the regions of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. A depression that formed over the Bay of Bengal got stronger by November 11, forming Cyclone Gaja.
The cyclone passed over some major towns in the districts of Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, and Thiruvur in Tamil Nadu. The meteorological department issued alerts about the harsh effects of the cyclone and how severe they could be. Therefore, early steps were taken by the central and state governments. Around eighty thousand people were shifted to relief camps. People were advised not to leave their homes.
Though strong measures were taken, approximately 45 people lost their lives. There were economic losses as well. Everybody has started to heal from the wounds caused by the cyclone in their lives.
