I hope you and your family are happy and doing well. Do you know which festival is known as the “festival of lights”? It’s Diwali! We only celebrated it two weeks ago. It is a time when we are all happy. The story behind Diwali celebrations is based on the Ramayana stories. In the story, Lord Rama killed the demon Ravan and came back to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Laxmana. Diwali commemorates the triumph of good over evil. We burn firecrackers and decorate our houses with lamps or diyas. It is also the time we give gifts to our dear ones. We make and distribute delicious Diwali sweets. All Indians around the globe, no matter where they are, will try to celebrate Diwali. Diwali is celebrated in different ways in different parts of India. Diwali is always the time of year when everybody unites and shares happiness and brotherhood.
