Dear Gowri,
How are you? I hope you are fine. I am writing this letter to tell you about an incident that gave me a new realization. Two days ago, I went to a luxurious supermarket to buy some herbs that are available only there. I went there wearing a very simple kurta and no make-up. The staff at the supermarket kept staring at me and were not ready to help me get the things I needed. What irked me was how they were politely behaving with other people at the supermarket who looked rich. It is when I realised that even in the 21st century, people are being judged and discriminated against based on their social class, economic status, and physical appearance. Discrimination of any kind is not a trait of a well-civilized society. There are many people whom I know personally who discriminate on the basis of their gender, class, and looks. I honestly dream of a world where discrimination of any kind does not exist.
Bye and take care
Your friend
