Parrot is my favourite bird. It is extremely beautiful. Its body is covered with green plumes or feathers. Parrots have long tales and look extremely magnificent. Parrots’ beak is of red colour. It is round, in a little bended form but it is very sharp. Parrots have a black ring on their necks.
They like to live in warm places. They can easily be found in the hollows of trees where they build their nests. It is not difficult to locate parrots as they are not shy of humans and live easily in cities. They lay eggs in their nests twice every year.
They usually travel in herds and prefer to live in groups. Therefore it is common to see many parrots together, flying in the sky and making it a capturing sight to watch.
Parrots mostly eat natural products such as nuts, mangoes, pear and so on. They also take delight in eating red chilies. Sometimes we hear farmers complaining about a big herd of parrots entering a corn field and eating all the grains!
The most special fact about parrots is that they can copy or mimic voices or sounds. If they hear any phrase being repeated many times then they copy that phrase. It is a rare talent to see in birds.
Many people exploit parrots for this talent. They use parrots as entertainment objects. they lock them in cages and teach them phrases to show off in front of others.
Parrots are also used in circuses and by many tarot card readers for picking up the cards. It is malpractice to use any animal of bird in such a manner.
Parrots have wings, their home is the sky. Humans should understand it and let parrots be free.
