Essay on GrandMother in English

Every year I eagerly wait for summer vacations to start because thatโ€™s the time when I can go to Chamba, Dalhousie. It is a beautiful place blessed with lush greenery and big mountains, but thatโ€™s not the only reason for me to go there. This place is special because my grandmother resides theirs.

My grandmother is an old lady and is 65 years old. Even at this age, she is very active. Every year we celebrate her birthday by throwing a small party at home. She is a retired school principal and therefore very disciplined and thoughtful about her work.

She is a great inspiration to me. She follows a healthy lifestyle. She wakes up early in the morning and does meditation on the lawn. When I ask her why she does it every day she replies that the melodious sounds of nature and fresh air help her to relax her mind, body and soul. She is religious too.

She is a very simple lady who dresses in a very decent way. Her simplicity adds to her beauty. She is a compassionate woman who likes to help the needy. Iโ€™ve seen her getting angry about things and handling every situation with grace.

She is a good cook too. She cooks a variety of cuisines whenever I go there during my vacations. My favourites are rajma chawal, biryani and shahi paneer which she makes. She is now running one NGO in Chamba itself.

The NGO helps to educate poor people irrespective of their age and gender. When I sit with her she tells me many fascinating stories and songs. She always encourages me to become a good human being and under her guidance, I am always happy and do the right thing. I love my Grandmother very much as she is the best gift from God for me.
