Good morning to everyone in this room. I would like to thank the principal, the teachers, and my dear friends for allowing me to speak to you today about Ratan Tata. In India and throughout the world, Ratan Tata is a well-known businessman who has grown his company through tenacity and commitment. He is renowned for turning around several failing businesses with his business strategy. He serves as our source of inspiration.
Ratan Tata, who was raised in a wealthy industrial family and went on to study structural engineering and architecture in the US, was born in 1937. The National Radio and Electronics Company Ltd named him as Director-in-Charge after he began his work there (NELCO). He assumed control of the Tata Group in 1990 and implemented changes to modernize its corporate practices.
Ratan Tata experienced difficulties in trying to sell the Tata Group’s automobile division, but he was ultimately successful in securing the $2 billion purchase of Jaguar Land Rover. After the terror attacks on 26/11, he also supervised efforts to help victims in the area around the Taj hotel.
He has made investments in start-ups and cutting-edge technology, worked with designers in Pune to develop Swach, a homegrown water filter that costs less than $1,000 and released the first batch of Tigor Electric Vehicles.
Ratan Tata is a magnificent industrialist and human being who has won several awards for his charitable work, including the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Despite having a 300 million pound wealth, he only controls 1% of the corporation. Thank you.
