“An equation for me has no meaning, unless it expresses a thought of God.”
This quote was famously made by renowned Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Despite having had almost no formal training in pure mathematics, Ramanujan has made significant contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions, including solutions to mathematical problems that were then considered unsolvable.
It is to be noted that by the age of 15, he had mastered various sections of Mathematics. In addition, he received the K. Ranganatha Rao prize for mathematics in 1904.
His friendship with Hardy is noted- so is their number 1729!
