A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Wild Animals’.
Any animal that does not fall into the category of ‘Domestic Animals’ can be termed a wild animal. Wild animals are, thus, ‘wild’, untamed animals belonging to the forest and woods.
Wild animals, collectively, can be referred to as ‘wildlife’. Examples of wild animals include giraffes, snakes, lions, tigers, cheetahs, leopards, panthers, zebras, wolves, gorillas, foxes, kangaroos, squirrels, elephants, and crocodiles.
Broadly, wild animals can be categorized into 5 types. Namely, they are Large mammals, Small mammals, Upland birds, Waterfowl and wetland birds, and Birds of prey.
There also exist “game animals” which include wild animals that can be legally hunted. To be classified as a legal game, the animals must be useful (predominantly for food) and be abundant in numbers so that can be sustained and not be threatened or endangered. Examples would include deer, elk, and wild buffalo.
