A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Truthfulness’.
Truthfulness is a term that is pretty self-explanatory in nature. Google defines the term ‘truthful’ or ‘truthfulness’ to be “telling or expressing the truth; honest.”
Yes, being truthful is synonymous with being honest. Truthfulness is thus a virtue we must all strive to possess.
Lying and being dishonest might seem advantageous a lot of times in life. It is, after all, to take the easier way out and avoid unpleasant difficulties. However, it is important to remember that truth is not one that hides forever and will one day surely come to light and be even more unpleasant. It is always wise to be truthful and maintain integrity.
A person who possesses truthfulness will always be respected and regarded highly in society. Mahatma Gandhi is one such person who stands testimony to this fact and has said “There is no God higher than truth.”
