1 Minute Speech on Self-Confidence In English

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of Self-Confidence.

Wikipedia defines the term ‘self-confidence’ as follows: “Confidence is a state of being clear-headed either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Confidence comes from a Latin word ‘fidere’ which means “to trust”; therefore, having self-confidence is having trust in one’s self.”

Google puts this simply. It states that self-confidence is, “a feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgement.”

Yes, we must always have confidence in ourselves. Wallowing in self-doubt and developing an inferiority complex will only result in negative consequences, something we must always strive to avoid. After all, if we ourselves do not believe in ourselves, who will!

Dalai Lama has once said, “With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.”

Have confidence in yourself!

Thank you.
