A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of Mother Teresa.
Born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia, Mother Teresa rose to become an icon of peace and charity. Growing up to become an Indian-Albanian Catholic nun, her selflessness knew no bounds. Her tales of helping others are awe-inspiring. “A life not lived for others is not a life”, said this great woman once.
She devoted her life to helping the needy and the poor, especially abandoned babies and orphans. Mother Teresa had in fact founded the order ‘The Missionaries of Charity’ for the same and her deeds of sacrifice for the greater good are sung to date.
In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her greatness.
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love”, she had said. Let us carry her cause and help the poor!
