A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on the topic ‘Doctor’s Day’.
“Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients.” This is a quote made by Carl Jung, a famous Swiss psychiatrist and rings true.
India’s National Doctor’s Day is celebrated on the 1st of July every year. The First Doctor’s Day was celebrated in India in the year 1991.
The first of July marks the birth and death anniversary of the most famous physician in India – Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. It is hence a tribute to his contributions to the health domain in the country that the 1st of July is commemorated as Doctor’s Day.
On this day, awareness about the importance of doctors, celebrations revolving around them, and overall appreciation towards their contributions to society can be observed. Free medical camps, workshops, and other similar activities are conducted across India.
