1 Minute Speech on Diwali in English

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Diwali.

Diwali is India’s biggest festival. It is a Hindu festival celebrated in Autumn every year, with pompous celebrations all over the country. Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, or good over evil, since Ram was said to have come home after killing Ravan on this day. As a result, lights are a very important part of this festival.

Every corner of the nation is lit up for Diwali, with rows of candles and diyas and lights everywhere. Lots of firecrackers are burst by children and adults alike, bringing great joy to every household. India shines the brightest of all nations when viewed from satellites in space on Diwali.

To conclude, Diwali is a wonderful festival full of lights and love! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
