Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December each year. It marks the birth of Jesus Christ, and is the most important holiday to people who follow the Christian faith. People buy gifts for their loved ones and decorate Christmas trees on this day. Children also wait for the arrival of presents from Santa Claus.
People worldwide celebrate Christmas with great pomp and splendour, making it one of the hugest festivities and cultural traditions of our society. India is a diverse nation of many faiths, including Christianity, and people of all faiths celebrate Christmas here, in a true nod to the harmony of our country.
