1 Minute Speech on Children’s Day In English

A very good morning to one and all present here. It is my honour to deliver a short speech on this momentous occasion.

Today, the 14th of November is celebrated in India as Children’s Day. Consequently, this day also marks the birth of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. After his demise in the year 1964, it was decided his birthday would be commemorated as Children’s Day as a tribute to his fondness for children.

Thus, every year since, children remember Chacha Nehru’s birthday as their own day and celebrate the day by sharing sweets, and toys and playing fun games. Schools also give their students small presents in his honour.

A yellow rose is a symbol of friendship. Let us all pin a yellow rose on our outfits like Nehru Ji, gift our friends a red rose and enjoy this day!

Thank you.
