Dear Tanya,
I hope you and your family are doing well. My mother and I were riding on her scooter when we were involved in a minor accident. My mother was the one riding the scooter. The road had a large gutter, and when the scooter’s front tyre fell into it, mom lost her balance and the scooter fell. Both of us fell on the road and fractured our leg bones. We are recovering from the accident. This accident made me realise the poor condition of our roads. We were travelling in the scooter strictly adhering to all safety precautions. Yet, we met with an accident due to bad roads. As citizens who pay taxes, proper roads in good condition are our rights. A quarter of the number of road accidents that happen in our country are due to poor roads. The government must act quickly to renovate the roads and put them in proper condition. Every year, the roads must be inspected in preparation for the monsoon season. I hope the roads will be in good condition soon.
