Subject: Letter complaining about the way in which women’s issues are presented
Sir/Madam,
Through an article in your newspaper, I would like to draw attention towards the issue of the way in which women’s issues are presented .
I recently came across another inevitable article in which women were being blamed for being sexually harassed. I realized that the way women’s issues are presented says a lot about us as a society. We tend to blame women for being sexually harassed, to narrow it down we blame it to the way they speak, dress or even sit.
It is very disturbing that we choose to look away from the root of the problem. To add to this, item songs and derogatory remarks in movies also fuel this treatment of women. I think that we should analyze the internalized ideas about women and their issues that we have made in our minds.
The prestigious columns of your newspaper will help this issue reach into light and help people analyze their ideas of women’s issues.
