Subject: Letter regarding the evils of street begging
Sir/Madam,
Through an article in your newspaper, I would like to shed some light and bring awareness on the topic of the evils of street begging.
Street begging in and of itself is not a harmful thing at all. But the position that it has taken in society is indeed a very harmful one. Street begging is a lazy and easy thing to do for almost every individual. I have been noticing young men and women of working caliber who have decided to waste their youth on street begging and shamelessly so.
In addition, there are also a huge number of little kids that are used by individuals to beg. These kids are given money which they use to buy drugs and intoxicants. This fact should boil the blood of every person. If we help these people with the authorities, we can make their life easier and street begging will return to being a harmless thing.
I hope that the prestigious columns of your newspaper will help bring this issue to light and that the concerned authorities will help provide respite to the common people.
