A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Health and Fitness’.
Before looking at these two terms in relation to each other, allow me to define these two terms individually.
Wikipedia defines the term ‘health’ as follows: “Health, according to the World Health Organization, is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity”. A variety of definitions have been used for different purposes over time.”
Meanwhile, it defines the term ‘fitness’ to be “a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest along with a formal recovery plan.”
Health and Fitness are thus two terms that are interwoven with each other and go hand in hand. A fit body, evidently, implies a healthy body.
One must eat a healthy, balanced diet every day. This will provide adequate vitamins, minerals, fat, and protein for the day for a person to remain fit and healthy. A healthy diet includes food made of green leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts, cereals, pulses, eggs, and meat- if one is comfortable with non-vegetarian food. In meat, red meat such as beef, lamb, and pork is considered to be a nutritious option. Seafood such as crabs, lobsters, and certain fish are also healthy.
Dairy products such as milk, butter, cream, cheese, and curd must also be consumed in appropriate measures. In addition to this, one must also drink at least 8 glasses of water every day, exercise, and remain in the sunlight for 20 minutes, preferably, the early morning rays.
Let us all be fit as a fiddle and stay healthy!
