A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Tourism in India’.
Wikipedia gives a detailed definition of the term ‘tourism’ as follows: “Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours.”
Tourism is an important form of revenue in India and is crucial to the functioning of the economy. Thousands of tourists come to India at various parts of the year to take it its vibrance and vivid diversity!
There are several types of tourism that can be found in India, some of which namely are Adventure tourism, Beach Tourism, Cultural tourism, Ecotourism, Medical tourism, and Wildlife tourism.
As of 2022, India ranks 54th in tourism according to WEF Travel and Tourism development index. Some famous tourist spots in India include Taj Mahal, Ajanta Caves, Mysore Palace, Kailasa Temple, and Brihadeeshwarar Temple.
