1 Minute Speech on the Importance of Water In English

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the importance of water.

Google defines water to be “a colourless, transparent, odourless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms.”

Yes, without water, no living organism can survive. Why, our bodies are in themselves made up of 70 percent of water!

Water is essential to regulate the temperature of our body. It helps protect vital organs in our bodies such as the spinal cord, helps get rid of toxic wastes by means of perspiration and urine, and, helps maintain good bowel movement.

Aside from this, water is necessary to keep the body hydrated and boost energy. Studies point out that an average human being requires 8 glasses of water per day to remain healthy.

Water is also crucial for the ecosystem. Without water, our lands will become barren, devoid of any human or animal life and vegetation.

Save water thus!

Thank you.
