A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Parents’.
Parents are often understood to only be the biological mother or father of a child. However, Wikipedia defines a parent to be “a caregiver of the offspring in their own species. In humans, a parent is the caretaker of a child. A biological parent is a person whose gamete resulted in a child, a male through the sperm, and a female through the ovum. Biological parents are first-degree relatives and have 50% genetic meet.”
Parents, in a nutshell, are wonderful beings who feed, nurture, protect and provide for all the needs required by a child, even if they have not necessarily given birth to the said child by conventional means.
Good parenting thus involves parents being a huge emotional support for their children right through their childhood. They thus also become excellent role models in this sense as their children will grow to look up to them!
