A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of movies.
We all grab a movie with our friends and family every now and then. But, have we ever stopped to wonder about how exactly we define a movie?
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the term movie to be “a recording of moving images that tells a story and that people watch on a screen or television: motion picture.”
This definition seems almost clinical in nature, doesn’t it? In reality, movies happen to mean so much more to us.
Watching movies predominantly is for entertainment purposes and gaining pleasure out of it, yes. But, more than that, movies also become a major influence in our lives, either consciously or unconsciously.
We learn a lot from movies about various cultures, practices, ideas, and so on. Good films even motivate us and steer us positively. However, developing an unhealthy obsession with movies, especially ones that promote negativity, is unhealthy.
