A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’’.
‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’ is a Hindi phrase that roughly translates to ‘The India of my Dreams’ in English. Consequently, it also happens to be the title of the book written by Mahatma Gandhi.
Beginning with the powerful lines “I believe absolutely that she has a mission for all the world. She is not to copy Europe blindly. India’s acceptance of the sword will be the hour of my trial”, the book elucidates Gandhi’s India of the Dreams- to give the nation a people-friendly governance—’Ramrajya’, that is. Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a free India thus forms the crux of the novel.
The book consists of a collection of passages from the writing and speeches of Mahatma Gandhi. Shedding light on the rich heritage of India, it brings out the problems India faces and how good education was the solution.
