1 Minute Speech on Mahatma Gandhi

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Mahatma Gandhi.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is known as the father of nation. Born on 2nd October, 1869, at Porbandar in Gujarat, the young Gandhi went on to work as a lawyer in South Africa. Eventually he returned to India and led the freedom struggle against the British.

The Indian National Movement achieved many great things under the leadership of Gandhi, and could ultimately drive out the British from the country all thanks to Gandhiji’s contributions. Some of the popular movements he led were the Non-Cooperation Movement and the Quit India Movement. Gandhiji staunchly believed in the power of truth and non-violence.

We must always remember to thank this great man for the freedom that we enjoy today! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
