Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Indian Culture’.
It is no secret that India is famed for its rich cultural heritage. Before proceeding, let us first look at the definition of culture.
Wikipedia defines culture to be “an umbrella term which encompasses the social behavior, institutions, and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.”
In this aspect thus, being a diverse, secular country, India has a vibrant culture. Perhaps Indian roots and traditional values are its most distinct feature. The moral and ethical values laid down in the Indian scriptures take a major role in its culture.
Thus, the wide variety of religions and communities also pave way for numerous rituals, practices, and etiquettes. It also makes India a religious hub owing to its many holy sites.
Not to mention, this gives rise to a multitude of cuisines as well!
