Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on the topic of ‘Human Rights Day’.
Human Rights Day is universally observed every year on the 10th of December. This day was chosen in commemoration of the United Nations General Assembly adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) on the very same date in the year 1948.
On Human Rights Day thus, we human beings as a whole aim to acknowledge the significance of this invaluable document and the importance of human rights to be exercised by all, without bias on any individual on the basis of their caste, class, race, creed, gender, or religion.
A different theme is chosen for Human Rights Day every year. In 2022, it was “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All”.
We should, no doubt, remember our human rights every day. But, on this day, we must try extra harder to put behind our differences and prejudices and remember that each and everyone is equal.
