Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Feminism.
Feminism is the ideology that believes in the equality of the genders. As we all know, society is deeply patriarchal and has always prioritised men over women. As a result, women have been constantly deprived of their rights in every field. Feminism seeks to combat this issue of deep-seated gender inequality so that women can one day enjoy the same status as men.
Feminism first started as a movement in the late 19th century, with the suffragettes in England fighting for women’s right to vote. Since then, it has evolved into an intersectional movement that strives for women’s social, political, economic and personal rights.
To conclude, we must all be feminists to one day achieve the dream of equality! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
