A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on the topic ‘Euthanasia’.
Euthanasia is the act of consciously putting an end to a person’s life to stop making them suffer further. In layman’s terms, this is referred to as ‘’mercy killing” as it is an act of mercifully ending a person who is grievously suffering from an incurable ailment.
Euthanasia is of 4 types. It could be active, that is with the patient’s knowledge, passive, without the patient’s knowledge, indirect, and physician-assisted suicide.
The morality around euthanasia is something that is highly debated and considered questionable. This is so as euthanasia is both voluntarily performed and also done without the consent of the patient with only the permission of their family member or members.
Hence, it is legal only in Washington D.C, Oregon, Hawaii, Maine, Colorado, New Jersey, California, and Vermont.
