A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on the topic ‘Ethics and Etiquette’.
Ethics and etiquette are two terms that are often confused with each other. According to Google, ethics refers to “a set of moral principles or values”. Whereas, etiquette denotes “conduct or procedure required or prescribed by authority to be observed in official life”. Thus, they are very different from each other. Yet, they are both essential in life.
Ethics are integral to human life. It is imperative for humans to uphold certain ethics such as not stealing, not lying, and not succumbing to dark temptations. Ethics are thus important to lead a moral life.
Etiquette, on the other hand, is vital to be a part of civilized society. A couple of important etiquettes to be upheld are workplace etiquette and dining etiquette.
