A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on the topic of equality.
What is equality? Google defines equality to be “the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, or opportunities”. Equality thus aims to eradicate any imbalance between fellow human beings.
Equality can be disrupted in various forms. There prevails gender inequality, inequality pertaining to caste, employment, and class.
Pertaining to gender, women are often seen to fight for equality on various grounds. They wish to have as much freedom and rights as men do which they are so deprived of. Inequality in employment is linked to this as pay differs per gender.
Inequality based on the caste system is unique to India. Society is segregated into various castes, which are further hegemonically classified as higher and lower classes. This inequality prevalent in society widens the gap between the rich and poor.
