Dear friend,
Hey! How are you? I am doing well on this side. I met with a friend of mine who is from Mussoorie, and he told me about the Tihar festival. I am going to tell you about this beautiful festival in this letter.
Tihar Festival is Diwali that is celebrated across Nepal as well as the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim. There are some similarities like making Rangoli and burning firecrackers. But the most interesting fact about the Tihar festival is that it is celebrated for five days.
Out of these five, four days are for the worship of the four creatures related to the God of Death, Yama. These creatures are- Crows (Kaag Tihar), Dogs (Kukur Tihar). Cows ( Gai Tihar), and Ox (Goru Puja). The fifth and final day of the celebration is for the people themselves. Tihar festival shows how so many beautiful festivals are celebrated around the world.
