Dear Rehna,
I hope you and your family are in good health and are happy. How did your Independence Day celebrations go? On August 15, everything went very well. I awoke early, looked out the window, and realized it had been 75 years since our country gained independence. I took the moment to remember all those fighters whose struggles gave us the freedom we enjoy today.
After that, I got ready and went to school to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony there by 9. pm. The prime minister hoisted the flag on the red fort and addressed the nation. The Independence Day parade was televised on a big screen at school, and we all watched it. The school group song team sang a patriotic song.
There was a dance performance by the students as well that showcased our country’s diversity and solidarity. Our teachers distributed to us a three-colored sweet dish that was white, saffron, and green. On my way back home, I saw that everybody had our country’s flag with them, and I smiled.
