Dear Vikas,
How are you? We are doing well here, though the weather is not that good. It’s been raining heavily here for the past 3 days. The weather forecast has issued an alert in our regions and predicted heavy rain for four more days. The heavy rain is part of the monsoon, but a low-pressure system formed in the Arabian Sea has made the rain get stronger.
The government had declared a holiday for all educational institutions due to the rain, and all exams have been postponed. I fear a flood-like situation may arise if the rain continues for two more days. Already, the low-lying areas have been waterlogged, and people from these areas have been shifted to relief camps.
For the first time, I am terrified of rain. I’ve always seen rain as beautiful, but I’m not feeling like that now. My mind is with all those people who have lost much of their lives and shelter due to this rain. I’m hoping for this rain to stop soon.
