Flat No 12 B Third Floor
I hope you and your family are in good health and are fine. I went to the Desert National Park in Rajasthan. Among the many animals and birds I saw, the great Indian bustard caught my interest. This is a bustard found only on the Indian subcontinent. This is a ground bird that stands one meter tall. This weighs around 15 kg.
There is a black cap on the top of its head. The head and neck are pale. The body feathers are brown and black. This bird is mostly found in wild plains and semi-arid grasslands. The bird is omnivorous and mostly eats bugs, insects, and reptiles. Since the number of Great Indian Bustards found in India has been going down, special conservation steps and plans have been taken by the government and environmentalists.
“Project Great Indian Bustard” is a program launched by the Rajasthan government in 2013 during Environment Day to protect and preserve the remaining population of great Indian bustards.
Bye and take care
