I hope this letter finds you well, my dear friend. I am eager to know how you have been faring!
I want to tell you something that fascinated me. With it being his birth anniversary today, I want to talk to you about Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
I’m sure you must have heard of Dayanand Saraswati, a famous Indian philosopher and ascetic. He was also a renowned social leader. He was known as Maharshi Dayanand by the people.
Dayanand Saraswati is acclaimed to have been the founder of the Arya Samaj (Society of Aryans), which was a notable reform movement of the Vedic dharma.
“Back to the Vedas” is, in fact, the slogan of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. He had the ideal goal of reconnecting society with its ancient roots- its traditions. He firmly believed that going back to the Vedas was the most effective course of action to achieve this. Interesting, right?
