The pride of India and one of the most eminent cricketers who has aced his field is Sachin Tendulkar. His mastery over batting has made him win the title “master blaster.”

Tendulkar won and has been winning millions of hearts worldwide through his art of being the best batsman. He has created one of the most inspiring histories India ever had. He won the most prestigious national and state awards for his outstanding contribution to India’s fame and popularity.

Biographical Details

Sachin Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973 to the father, Ramesh Tendulkar, and mother, Rajani. He was the youngest son of his parents. Ramakanta Achrekar was his mentor.

Tendulkar married Anjali Mehta with whom he has two children, Sara and Arjun. On 15th November 1989, at the age of sixteen, Tendulkar had his test debut against Pakistan.

Achievements

His fame and popularity are extraordinary and are worth considering and which ultimately became the reason for making his biopic titled, “Sachin- a Billion Dreams.”

He became the first-ever batsman to complete 10,000 ODI runs in his 259 innings in 2001. Wisdom Cricketers’ Almanack in 2002 ranked him the second greatest test batsman of all time after Don Bradman, and the second greatest ODI Batsman of all time after Viv Richards.

Tendulkar won Arjuna Award in 1994 in recognition of his extraordinary achievements in sports. He also won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. India’s fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri was won by Tendulkar.

In 2001, he won Maharashtra Bhushan Award and in 2008, won Padma Vibhushan. Ultimately, he was conferred India’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna in 2014.
