Good morning one and all. Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, it is my pleasure and privilege to stand before you today. I am honored to have this opportunity to speak to such a distinguished audience.Today on this occasion, I would like to talk about the importance of hygiene and cleanliness.
Cleanliness is a virtue that we must all practice in our daily lives. It is more than keeping the surroundings clean, it also includes maintaining personal hygiene. When we maintain good hygiene we save ourselves from many diseases and infections. Cleanliness begins with personal hygiene.
Personal hygiene includes washing our hands, brushing our teeth and also trimming our nails. Beyond this, we must also make sure to keep our houses and other spaces clean. Research has found that clean and organised spaces lead to more productivity and better mental health.
When the environment is clean, the individual is able to develop both physically and mentally. Cluttered and messy places cause anxiety and lead to other physical and mental problems, whereas when the space is neat and clean, a person is able to concentrate better and work more efficiently.
It is the responsibility of every individual to make sure that they do their part correctly. Trash should be thrown in the right cans and we must not litter. The spread of many infections can be prevented if everyone follows the protocols. Cleanliness is a habit that reflects a person’s state of mind. It is a social responsibility that promotes a healthy and safe environment for all. It is a practice that should be ingrained from childhood.
By being organised and maintaining cleanliness we display a sense of responsibility and develop discipline. Thus, I would like to conclude with the saying, “Cleanliness is next to godliness “. Thank you.
