Good morning to everyone in this room. I would like to thank the principal, the teachers, and my dear friends for allowing me to speak to you today about road safety. For each of us, road safety is of utmost significance. Our safety is always in our hands while we are on the road, whether we are walking or riding in a car.
The other cars on the road require us to use extreme caution. Only when we follow the traffic laws can we be guaranteed our safety on the road. One of the fundamental traffic laws for pedestrians is to use zebra crossings only when the traffic light is red. Yet, you may frequently note that individuals ignore traffic laws and cross the street whenever they see no incoming cars.
At times, people even manage to squeeze in between the stationary cars at crosswalk lights. This is one of the most typical situations in areas with no traffic enforcement officers on duty and during rush hour.
Whether crossing the street or walking on it, people frequently make mistakes like looking down at their phones for too long. Before crossing a road, it’s important to look both ways. You should also observe any posted speed restrictions and follow all other traffic regulations.
Following the rules and abstaining from bad habits like texting or talking on the phone while walking or driving on the road, driving while intoxicated, and exceeding the posted speed limit will help to assure road safety. To save lives, let’s promise to drive carefully and to make sure everyone is safe on the roads. Thank you.
