World Environment day is celebrated on the 5th of June each year across the globe. According to Wikipedia, this day “encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.”
World Environment Day is thus a global platform for inspiring positive change in people at a universal level. Over 150 countries participate in this United Nations international day, which “celebrates environmental action and the power of governments, businesses and individuals to create a more sustainable world”.
The UN General Assembly designates 5 June as World Environment Day, since it marks the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, 1972
