Just as the freedom struggle was important, places related to the freedom struggle were equally important. While protests took place all over India, some places became important symbols.
Jalliawalah Bagh, also known as the Amritsar struggle and its brutal violence, perhaps, is the first place that comes to mind.
Champaran in Bihar is famous for being the site of the first satyagraha in India. Similarly, Dandi is again famous for Gandhi’s Dandi March.
Chauri Chaura is yet another place that witnessed patriotic Indians suffering under the brutal violence of the British. Several more places exist in similar fashion, standing testimony to our freedom struggle.
