- It is often compared to the Taj Mahal because of their similarities.
- Aurangzeb commissioned the tomb in the year 1660.
- It is also known as the Dakkani Taj.
- It is the chief attraction of the city of Aurangabad.
- According to an inscription, the monument was designed by the architect Ataullah.
- The same inscription reads that it was built by the engineer Hanspat Rai.
