A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘World War II’.
Wikipedia briefs on this concisely as follows: “World War II or the Second World War, often abbreviated as WWII or WW2, was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. The vast majority of the world’s countries, including all of the great powers, fought as part of two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.”
In World War II, the chief Allied powers were Great Britain, France, the Soviet Union, the United States, and China. Here, the three chief ones were Great Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union.
Meanwhile, the chief Axis powers include Germany, Italy, and Japan. Other powers were Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia.
With Hitler’s invasion of Poland began World War II, which eventually ended in 1945 with the surrender of Germany to the Allied powers.
