A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic of the importance of teachers.
Google defines a teacher to be “a person who teaches, especially in a school.” But, is this all a teacher is?
Teachers are very important in every one of our lives as they play a crucial role in shaping who we are. More than teaching what is prescribed in the syllabus, good teachers go above and beyond, teaching us about life values, what is right and what is wrong, effectively serving as our faithful guides and companions.
Albert Einstein has, in fact, said “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” Indeed, teachers invoke curiosity in us from a very young age, shaping and moulding us for the better.
I would like to conclude my speech with the quote “Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions.”
