A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Responsibility’.
Google puts down three definitions for the term ‘responsibility’ which brings out three facets of the same. Allow me to explore them one by one.
The first definition is “the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.” This is the most generic definition of responsibility. Here, the meaning pertains to the jobs or tasks that one is expected to fulfil.
The second definition is “the state or fact of being accountable or to blame for something.” This is the action of taking responsibility or being responsible for an action or event that is to or has already occurred, often negative in connotation.
Finally, the third definition is “the opportunity or ability to act independently and take decisions without authorization.” Here, being responsible is to being individualistic and able to make sound life decisions.
